This advanced knitting pattern produces a fitted garment available in nine sizes ranging from 71-76 cm chest (28-30 inches) through to 152-157 cm chest (60-62 inches), with actual finished chest measurements spanning from 110 cm to 197.5 cm. The design features classic cardigan construction with shaped shoulders and a structured neckline.

Techniques Used

This pattern employs several advanced knitting techniques characteristic of professional garment construction. The top-down seamless method eliminates the need for seaming, allowing knitters to work continuously from the neckline downward. The pattern incorporates shoulder shaping worked across multiple sections, with separate front and back shoulder sections that are picked up and knitted to create the garment's structure. Stitch markers are used to denote key points such as the center back neck and shoulder placement lines, helping maintain accuracy throughout the construction. Materials: Yarn and Needles

Yarn requirements range from 12 balls for the smallest size to 20 balls for the largest size, allowing knitters to select yardage appropriate to their chosen finished measurements.

The pattern requires a comprehensive needle kit to accommodate the various stages of construction. Knitters will need 4mm (US 6) needles in both straight and circular formats, as well as 5mm (US 8) needles in straight, circular, and double-pointed configurations. Specifically, the circular needles must measure at least 80 cm in length to accommodate the cast-on stitches and subsequent increases.
