Product Description
The Lovely Landscape collection is inspired by climate change and the impact on wildlife and for every pattern sold from the collection, we're donating $1 to World Land Trust until August 2021. World Land Trust protects the world’s most biologically significant and threatened habitats acre by acre.
"With Climate Change on everyone’s mind, I wanted to create a collection that celebrated the natural world, with an emphasis on those landscapes that are in danger of disappearing or irrevocably damaged. Worked in texture as well as colorwork." Debbie Bliss

Debbie Bliss Brampton Sweater
What is Being Made
The Debbie Bliss Brampton is a striped knit sweater designed to fit bust sizes from 81-86 cm (32-34 in) through 122-127 cm (48-50 in). This intermediate-level garment features a classic pullover construction with finished bust measurements ranging from 105 cm (41¼ in) to 153 cm (59¾ in), and length to shoulder measurements between 61 cm (24 in) and 70 cm (27½ in). The sweater includes set-in sleeves with a finished sleeve length of 44 cm (17¼ in) across all sizes.
Techniques Used
The Brampton Sweater is constructed using a bottom-up seamed method, meaning the back, front, and sleeves are knitted separately from the cast-on edge upward, then assembled together. The garment is worked flat on straight needles rather than in the round, requiring seaming to join the pieces. The design features horizontal stripes created through a planned color sequence that runs throughout the body and sleeves. Raglan armhole shaping is incorporated, with stitches cast off at the beginning of rows to create the characteristic diagonal lines from underarm to neckline. The construction includes ribbed edging at the lower edge and uses standard increases and decreases to shape the garment.
Stitches Used
The primary stitch throughout the Brampton Sweater is stocking stitch (stockinette stitch), which creates the smooth, classic knit fabric. The lower edge begins with ribbing, alternating knit and purl stitches in a 1x1 pattern to create elasticity and a finished edge. Shaping techniques include cast-off stitches for armhole and neckline shaping, make one increases (m1) for gradual shaping, and standard decrease methods including skpo (slip, knit, pass slipped stitch over) and s2kpo (slip 2 stitches, knit 1, pass 2 slipped stitches over) for refined decreases.
Materials and Tools
The Brampton Sweater uses two yarn types from Debbie Bliss: Fine Donegal and Angel. Fine Donegal provides the base colors in quantities of 100-200g depending on size, available in Blackberry 12, Bark 4, Leaf 13, Teal 15, and Soft Grey 3. Angel yarn, a finer weight, is used for accent stripes in Black 02, Heather 36, Charcoal 03, Aqua 09, Mint 11, and Ecru 06, with quantities ranging from 25g to 50g balls depending on size and color. Knitting needles required are 4mm (US 6) for the ribbed cuff and 4.5mm (US 7) for the main body, with a gauge of 20 stitches and 28 rows over 10 cm (4 in) in stocking stitch using the larger needles.
