Techniques Used

The pattern requires two circular knitting needles: a 16" length needle in size 8 (5.00 mm) for the main body and a 16" length needle in size 6 (4.00 mm) for the ribbed cowl. Additionally, a 29" length circular needle in size 8 (5.00 mm) is needed for working the expanded body sections. The pattern calls for 2 regular stitch markers in different colors to distinguish pattern sections and 1 removable stitch marker or safety pin for marking reference rounds. The recommended gauge is 19 stitches and 24 rounds over 4 inches in pattern stitch on the larger needle, and checking gauge before beginning is essential for achieving the correct finished measurements.
