Product Details
My twin rib journey led me to design a long tunic with a cowl neck and hourglass shape. I had been thinking about winter – and imagining a sweater that would be warm enough to wear without a coat and comfortable enough to wear all day long. I decided to design a very basic sweater and add a pocket for practicality. Voila! Farfalle was born.
While shaped to fit, farfalle was designed to have enough room to make it a very comfortable wear. As I worked on it, I decided to make it more fun by giving it an oversized pocket to balance an oversized turtleneck cowl. The sleeves are unusually long and can be worn long or turned up.
Farfalle is a straightforward knit, and it is among the easiest in the collection. Done in pieces from the bottom-up, the sweater is shaped with simple decrease and increase stitches along the seams. The sleeves are knit separately and set in, the cowl is worked in the round, and the pocket is added in finishing.
