Festive Mug Hugs

This set of mug warmers will cheer a festive breakfast table, and keep steaming mugs of cocoa warm on winter days. Each warmer is decorated with a festive character: Santa, Snowman, Robin, a Christmas pudding and tree. The heads are pinned onto the warmer sleeve with safety pins so they can be removed if you need to wash the sleeve. You could also wear these as festive brooches, or add a loop of yarn on the top to hang as decorations on your Christmas tree. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, these are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round). For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish. This pattern incorporates knitted stripes (Santa), intarsia (Robin) and stranded colour-work (Pudding). Designed to fit a typical tea or coffee mug (240-350ml/8-12 US fl oz), each warmer is 25cm long (un-stretched) and 7cm tall.
