Easy knit hats and mittens for children and adults. Instructions given for both worsted (aran) and bulky (chunky) weight.
Sizes:
Child's small and medium. Adult small, medium and large.
Hats are very elastic and will fit head measurements of 20 (21, 22, 23, 24)" or larger.
Yarn Requirements:
Hat in worsted wt: 180 (200, 220, 240, 260) yds
Hat in bulky wt: 130 (150, 170, 190, 210) yds
Mittens in worsted wt: 95 (115, 140, 165, 190) yds
Mittens in bulky wt: 70 (90, 115, 145, 180) yds
Needles:
Hat in worsted wt: US 8 (5.00mm) 16" circular and DPNs
Hat in bulky wt: US 10 (6.00mm) 16" circular and DPNs
Mittens in worsted wt: US 5 (3.75mm) DPNs, US 7 (4.50mm) DPNs
Mittens in bulky wt: US 7 (4.50mm) DPNS, US 9 (5.50mm) DPNs
Gauge:
Hat in worsted wt: 18 sts = 4"
Hat in bulky wt: 14 sts = 4"
Mittens in worsted wt: 20 sts = 4" on larger needle
Mittens in bulky wt: 15 sts = 4" on larger needle
