Fredericton

Fredericton is a unisex cardigan knit with two strands of yarn held together to create a marled effect. It is worked in Reverse Stocking stitch to add even more texture to this otherwise very simple garment. Shawl collar, set-in pockets, rolled up cuffs, and optional crochet collar edging are understated details that make this a wardrobe staple that is classic and timeless.

Intended to be worn with 2.5-10cm / 1-4” positive ease.

As an alternative to two strands of a sport weight yarn held together, a single strand of an aran weight wool can be used to achieve a solid colour fabric.

The samples were knit in Briggs & Little Sport.

You may add an optional crochet trim (using a 3.5mm / E hook) with approximately 20 yds of worsted/aran weight yarn in a contrast shade.
