What is Being Made

The Radiance Shawlette is a triangular lace shawlette designed by Tina Whitmore. This versatile accessory can be crafted in three different sizes depending on yarn quantity: a single-ball version measuring 34 inches across at the widest point with a 15-inch depth, a two-ball version reaching 47 inches across and 20 inches deep, or a three-ball version spanning 58 inches across with a 28-inch depth. The graduated color changes in the Freia Fine Handpaints yarn create a beautiful ombré effect as the shawlette grows.

Techniques Used

This pattern employs lace knitting techniques worked flat on circular needles. The design features intricate lace motifs created through strategic yarn overs and decreases that form openwork patterns throughout the triangular shape. Materials

For the single-ball version shown in the pattern, one ball of yarn is required; however, knitters can use two balls or three balls to create progressively larger versions while maintaining the beautiful graduated color transitions. The pattern recommends US 7 (4.5mm) circular needles measuring 24 inches in length.
