Product Description
These crocheted Gingerbread 'Bikkies' were designed to look as much as possible like the edible kind, but last longer!
Make a set of five for your tree, make as gifts or wrapping toppers or make a gingerbread garland that you'll use for years to come.
Make a star, a snowflake, a tree, a house and a person.
Each design is made in sets of two and sewn together to hide stitching and make it more real.
Ideas for the icing (stitching) are given (also see @littlegoldennook) but you are free to use your own ideas also.
I've used both 8ply/dk/light weight yarn and Aran/10ply/medium weight, both work well but the 10ply biscuits are larger and heavier. I do prefer the lighter yarn if you can find it in cotton. Another suggestion is Yarn and Colors Must-Have in Satay.
My preferred yarn: Stylecraft Classique Cotton DK in Toffee
For the icing you can use 4ply/fingering yarn OR 8ply/dk yarn in white or off white. Photos of each included. In the end I prefer the 4ply option for the icing.
