Gingham crochet cushions

With gingham being such a fresh and timeless pattern these crocheted cushions will fit in to any colourscheme and room around the home. The pattern gives full details for three different sizes, small, medium and large and gives options of a striped or checked back.

This cushion pattern is perfect for all crochet abilities as the only stitch used is dc (UK terms), and there are clear step by step photos showing how to create the gingham effect.

The cushion cover itself is made from three pieces, one for the front and two back pieces which overlap to make an envelope opening on the back of the cushion. It really is as simple as that !

I used DROPS Cotton merino for all three of the cushions but any DK weight yarn could be used. I chose to use a cotton blend as it gives each square a good, clear definition. To create the gingham effect you need to choose a dark colour, a lighter shade of the same colour and a white or cream.
