The finished hat has an unstretched brim circumference of 17 inches, making it suitable for average adult head sizes.

Knitting Techniques Used

This pattern employs several key knitting techniques appropriate for advancing beginners:

• Circular knitting: The hat is worked in the round using circular needles and double-pointed needles, which eliminates the need for seaming and creates a seamless construction.
• Ribbing: The pattern includes two ribbed sections—a 10-row ribbed brim and an 8-row ribbed body section—created using alternating knit and purl stitches.
