This yarn has a lovely feel and the combination I got is beautiful. I purchased two skeins because I wasn’t sure one would suffice for my project. The yarn is not plied and it has four strands. The colors change one strand at a time, creating a watercolor-like effect. So why do I rate it at two stars? Because the second color had a strand that became longer than the other three. It kept growing until I had to cut it and knot it as discreetly as possible. This happened a few more times. Whether it was the same strand causing the problem, I don’t know. I finally got tired of trying to fix it and gave up after using around half of the first skein. Even on sale, this yarn is not inexpensive, so I don’t recommend trying it. A waste of time and money.
