What is Being Made

Holland is an intermediate-level knitted sweater designed to fit chest measurements ranging from 81–86 cm (32–34 inches) up to 152–157 cm (60–62 inches). This pullover features a classic construction with a shaped front neck, fitted shoulders, and a structured body suitable for everyday wear.

Knitting Techniques Used

This pattern employs several fundamental knitting techniques appropriate for intermediate crafters. The garment is constructed using double moss stitch as the primary stitch pattern, which creates a textured, reversible fabric. The pattern incorporates shaping methods including cast-on and cast-off techniques for armholes and necklines, as well as decreasing techniques worked at regular intervals to create the fitted shoulder and neck shaping. Two needle sizes are required: 3.5mm (US 4) needles for the ribbed edges and initial cast-on, and 4mm (US 6) needles for the main body fabric. The pattern specifies a tension of 23 stitches and 29 rows to 10 centimeters measured over double moss stitch using the 4mm needles. Additional notions include stitch holders for managing stitches during construction.
