Impressions Four Knitting Patterns in Morris DK by Debbie Bliss & Chloé Elizabeth Birch
About This Collection
This advanced knitting pattern collection represents a special collaboration between renowned designer Debbie Bliss and Chloé Elizabeth Birch, created in partnership with West Yorkshire Spinners and the William Morris Society. The designs draw inspiration from the artistic legacy of William Morris, the 19th-century craftsman, artist, and designer whose revolutionary approach to craftsmanship and design transformed Victorian England. This collection honors that heritage while celebrating contemporary knitting artistry.
Projects Included
The Impressions Four collection features multiple garment designs suitable for advanced knitters:
- Cardigans
- Sweaters and jumpers
Yarn: Morris DK
The Morris DK yarn used throughout these patterns is a carefully crafted blend of three quality British fleeces, each selected for specific qualities. The blend combines lustrous and luxurious Bluefaced Leicester, soft and durable Bluefaced Kerry Hill, and the rustic and charming Masham. This thoughtful fiber combination creates a yarn with excellent drape, durability, and visual interest.
The color palette has been meticulously curated to capture the iconic hues of the Victorian era, reflecting the aesthetic sensibilities of William Morris himself. Available colorways include Strawberry, Pomegranate, Rose, Rhubarb, Chrysanthemum, Saffron, Pimpernel, Daffodil, Marigold, and Artichoke, each evoking the natural world and period design traditions.
