Integrity Shawl

As I was knitting this shawl, I felt a need for positive action in this insane time. That feeling spawned an idea for a series of 12 designs I’m calling A Single Candle, referring to the idea that small positive actions can shine a light of hope and resilience, like a single candle in the darkness. Each design will be named for a positive attribute, reminding us that good always prevails. I plan on donating 50% from each pattern sold to the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) toward their work protecting the rights and civil liberties of all those in the United States whose rights and liberties are being denied.

Worked from the top down, begin with an I-cord cast-on. Bands of mosaic alternate with stockinette while the I-cord continues along each side, forming the top of the shawl. This piece looks great in a solid (or semi-solid) and handpainted colorway, feel free to use two handpainted colorways but make sure there’s enough contrast between them so the mosaic pattern is visible.
