Want to knit an eye-catcher? Or do you have a crazy color combination on your mind, waiting to jump onto your needles? Iszara might be just the right thing for you.
Iszara is a striped, semi-circular shawl, knitted in garter stitch. The stripes are worked using the intarsia technique. If you’re not familiar with this technique – don’t worry, it’s not difficult at all! All you have to do is twist yarns whenever you come to a color change in the middle of a row, ie: when you switch from one color to another, put the new working yarn UNDER the old working yarn in order to trap the old working yarn between the new one and the knitting, then pull all ends a bit tight. That’s it.
Yardage requirements are 4 skeins Quince & Co Finch in Kittywake (MC) and 1 skein Quince & Co Finch in Carrie’s Yellow (CC). A substitute yar nis suggested below.
