What is Being Made

The Janna tunic is a knitted pullover sweater designed as part of the Aspen Collection. The finished bust measurements span from 33½ inches (85cm) for the smallest size to 54½ inches (138.5cm) for the largest size. Back length varies from 28 to 29½ inches (71 to 75cm) depending on size, while front length ranges from 26 to 27½ inches (66 to 70cm).

Techniques Used

This sweater is constructed using several key knitting techniques that create visual interest and texture:

• Bottom-up construction: The garment is knitted from the bottom edge upward, beginning with the back piece and side vents.
• Worked flat: The tunic is knitted flat on circular needles rather than in the round, allowing for seaming to join pieces together.

Materials

The Janna tunic is knitted using Juniper Moon Farm Mallow yarn in colorway 105 Buckwheat. Yardage requirements range from 6 skeins (75g each) for the smaller sizes (X-Small, Small, and Medium) to 8 skeins for the largest sizes (2X-Large and 3X-Large), with 7 skeins needed for Large and 1X-Large.

The pattern calls for two circular needles: a smaller US 10½ (6.5mm) needle measuring 32 inches (80cm) long, used one size smaller than the gauge needle, and a larger US 11 (8mm) circular needle of the same length, sized to obtain the correct gauge.
