Knitting Techniques

The Lagertha Jacket employs several key knitting techniques suited to intermediate-level crafters:

• Top-Down Construction: The jacket is worked in rows beginning at the neck and progressing downward, allowing for seamless integration of the yoke, sleeves, and body in a single continuous piece.
• Raglan Shaping: Raglan lines are established using stitch markers placed at strategic points. Increases are worked on either side of marked stitches to create the characteristic diagonal raglan decreases that shape the armholes and sleeve cap.
• Stockinette Stitch Base: The primary fabric is worked in Stockinette stitch, which creates a smooth, classic knit surface ideal for showcasing yarn texture and color work.
