What Is Being Made

The Monatomic is a knitted tunic designed by Pamela Wynne, featured in the Electric Collection. This garment is an a-line top with a shirttail hem and decorative details including a lace collar and buttons down the back. The tunic is available in eight sizes ranging from XS to 4X, with finished bust measurements from 30 inches (76 cm) to 58½ inches (148.5 cm) and lengths from 26 inches (65.5 cm) to 29½ inches (74.5 cm) at the center back.

Stitches and Stitch Patterns

The primary stitch used throughout the Monatomic tunic is stockinette stitch (St st), which creates a smooth, classic knit fabric. The tunic features a lace collar as a decorative element, adding textural interest to the neckline. Shaping is achieved through strategic increases, including m1L (make one left) increases worked on knit rows to add stitches gradually. The hem construction involves repeated cast-on techniques across multiple rows to build the shirttail shape before transitioning to the main body.

Materials: Yarn and Needles

The Monatomic tunic is knitted with Juniper Moon Farm Zooey yarn in colorway #15 Rigging. Yardage requirements range from 4 balls for the smallest sizes (XS, S, M) to 7 balls for the largest size (4X), allowing crafters to select the appropriate quantity based on their chosen size.

Two needle sizes are required for this project.
