This is a knitted cardigan jacket designed as part of the Classici 20 collection from Lana Grossa. The Solo Lino Jacket is available in three sizes: 36/38, 40/42, and 44. The design features a structured silhouette with shaped sleeves, a defined neckline, and front closures typical of a classic cardigan construction.
The Solo Lino Jacket employs several advanced knitting techniques to create its finished garment:
The Solo Lino Jacket incorporates fundamental and decorative stitches to achieve its design:
The Solo Lino Jacket is worked in Lana Grossa Solo Lino, a yarn blend composed of 80% recycled linen viscose and 20% linen. This fiber content creates a lightweight, breathable fabric ideal for a jacket. The yarn is available in Light Olive (color 47) and comes in a weight of 120 meters per 50 grams.
Yardage requirements: The pattern calls for 400 grams (for size 36/38), 450 grams (for size 40/42), or 500 grams (for size 44) of Solo Lino yarn.
Needle specifications: The project requires size 3.5 mm and 4 mm needles in multiple formats: straight needles for flat knitting, a 120-centimeter circular needle for sections worked in the round, and one set of size 3.5 mm double-pointed needles for smaller circumferences.
The gauge for this project is 22 stitches and 30 rows over 10 centimeters when working the mesh pattern on size 4 mm needles. Maintaining proper gauge is essential to achieve the intended finished measurements. The jacket body reaches approximately 35–37 centimeters in length from cast-on to the beginning of shoulder shaping, depending on size.
The back piece is cast on with 115 (123, 131) stitches on size 3.5 mm needles, beginning with a 1x1 rib pattern for 4 centimeters. The work then transitions to size 4 mm needles, where the mesh pattern is introduced and maintained according to a provided chart. The left and right front pieces are each cast on with 59 (63, 67) stitches and follow the same ribbing and pattern transitions as the back.
Sleeve shaping is accomplished through strategic increases at designated edges, building the piece from 59 (63, 67) stitches to 79 (83, 87) stitches. Neck shaping involves binding off the center stitches and then binding off additional stitches at each neck edge in a stepped manner. Shoulder shaping is worked
