What is Being Made

The Lang Sigrid is a top-down knitted sweater designed for comfortable everyday wear. This garment features a classic pullover construction with set-in sleeves and a ribbed crew neckline. The sweater is available in two size ranges: S–M with a bust measurement of 43¼ inches (110 cm) and length of approximately 22½ inches (57 cm), and L–XL with a bust of 50½ inches (128 cm) and length of approximately 23½ inches (60 cm).

Construction Technique

The Sigrid sweater is constructed using the top-down method, which means knitting begins at the neckline and progresses downward toward the hem. The garment is worked in the round for much of the construction, creating a seamless fabric. The yarn is held double throughout the project, which adds warmth and creates a denser fabric suitable for a cozy sweater.

The construction process begins with the neckline ribbing, followed by yoke shaping where sleeve stitches are increased. Stitches Used

Materials and Tools

The Sigrid sweater is knitted using LANGYARNS CLOUD, a premium yarn composed of merino extrafine, mulesing-free fibers blended with nylon for durability. The yarn specified is chestnut-petrol colorway (1077.0012). Yardage requirements are 400 grams (4 balls) for the S–M size and 500 grams (5 balls) for the L–XL size.

The project requires a combination of needle sizes to accommodate the gauge changes and construction method. Knitters will need one long circular knitting needle and one short circular knitting needle in size US 15 (10 mm) for the ribbed sections, and size US 17 (12 mm) for the stockinette body and sleeves. A set of double-pointed needles in size US 15 (10 mm) is also required for working the ribbed sections in the round. The gauge for stockinette stitch on US 17 (12 mm) needles should be checked before beginning the project.

Pattern Summary
