Lionel the Lion

Lionel is a bright lion with a funky pink mane. This lion is knitted predominantly in stockinette stitch, with increases and decreases for shaping. The mane is added after knitting by attaching strands of yarn onto the head. Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toy is knitted in acrylic DK yarns, mostly on single pointed needles (not in the round). The tail is an i-cord tube worked on two DPNs. For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish. The finished lion is 24cm tall (when standing).
