Malabrigo Rasta Yarn - Merino Super Chunky

I love using this yarn in my tapestry weaving to give depth and warmth to the work. It feels so good in my hands that I often forego using a needle and place the yarn by hand. It feels opulent and comforting, and the colors blend so well as I weave forests, lakes, flowers, and skies into my work. My pieces are relatively small, generally 15” by 18”, so one skein provides wool for several weavings. Most delicious soft buttery smooth warm yarn I've ever worked with. This is the lobster of yarn, the 3 Michelin stars of yarn. It's absolutely gorgeous, and every moment working with this was a pleasure. I might buy a ball of yarn just to snuggle. This yarn has kept me warmer than anything else I've worked with. However it can be too good at keeping things warm and can be a little too thick to make delicate things. If you do want to make thinner less warm things, I would just buy malabrigo...

This is my new, favorite super bulky yarn.!! The colors are vibrant (I have used fuscia for a hat and scarf, and am now knitting a cabled sweater with Paris night- a deep rich blue). The yarn knits easily and quickly, feels soft and beautiful in my hands, has great body and does not split. I am a huge fan and this will be my go to yarn for future projects requiring this yarn weight.

I used this yarn for crocheting hot pads, then felting. This yarn is perfect for felting. I love that it is self striping and is very smooth on my hook. I bought several colors of Rasta so I can make different hot pads for my friends in their favorite colors.

this yarn is great for felting. I crocheted hot pads then felted them as gifts for birthdays and Christmas gifts. This yarn is over the top wonderful for felting. It's super bulky so, it doesn't take much to make the hot pads I crocheted. You will NOT be disappointed with Rasta.

It is buttery soft, so luxurious and squishy. I'm using it for a winter hat.

I've been using this yarn for a long time for scarves and hats. I like chunky, hand dyed yarn. It is strong with few knots and has a beautiful color selection. I used to live in Lake Tahoe, where it's cold enough to wear knitting. Now I'm in L A, where there's not so much cold weather, so I knit for friends.

I love Rasta. I use it for winter hats and right now I’m knitting a sweater for my daughter. The patterns call for super bulky yarn and the projects work up fast.

I love the quality, the wonderful and varied colors, and the softness. I use it for mixing it with the Alpaca for a cat mat.
