Malabrigo has made the hand-dyed sock yarn of your dreams! Ultimate Sock is a true sock yarn that has a little nylon for strength in the perfect pair of socks. This yarn is also a great option for a shawl or lightweight tee!
Note: You will need approximately 400 yards for a basic pair of socks for an average women's size.

Be very careful if you are purchasing this yarn online. It is beautiful, soft, easy to use and the colors are glorious. However, the colors you see on your computer screen are nothing like the reality you will receive in the mail. Enjoy the surprise! If you are just making a lovely pair of socks this won’t matter. But if you are trying to match colors, or do color work on a pattern this could be a deal breaker. I recently purchased the “under the sea” color and when it arrived I was...
AS I SAID IN THE FIRST PART OF THIS QUESTIONNAIRE, I have knit socks for many years and Malabrigo is the best yarn there is for socks. PERIOD.
Malabrigo Ultimate Sock comes in the most beautiful colors but I have found that if I make socks out of it, and put them in the washing machine (as I have all other socks I've knitted out of sock yarn that is machine washable) they will shrink. I tried making them larger in both dimensions, width and length, and I still ended up giving them away to a neighbor with smaller feet. So now I use it for making scarves. No more socks. But at least I can enjoy using the colors.
Malabrigo is a favorite. Colors are spectacular and the quality of the yarn is reliable. I have used their sock yarn for shawls, cowls, baby blankets, beanies, and yes, socks! Never disappoints. I gift this yarn to fellow knitters too.
I love the colorful dye works of this collection. They are fun and make me smile. My recipients enjoy them too.
I love this yarn! I prefer Superwash for it’s beauty and softness as I work the project! I would recommend it to anyone who has never tried it before.
