The generous length and moderate width create a practical yet sophisticated garment that works well for layering or as a statement piece.

Techniques Used

This wrap is constructed using several key knitting techniques that create both visual interest and structural integrity. The shawl is worked on the bias, a technique that creates diagonal lines and adds subtle movement to the finished piece. This bias construction is achieved through strategic increases and decreases on right-side rows: one stitch is increased at the beginning of each right-side row using a knit-front-back increase, while one stitch is decreased at the end using a knit-together decrease. This balanced shaping ensures the wrap maintains its intended dimensions while the diagonal orientation develops naturally.

The wrap is worked flat on circular needles rather than in the round, allowing the crafter to work back and forth in rows. The design incorporates horizontal stripes created by changing yarn colors at specific intervals throughout the construction. Each ball weighs 100 grams, for a total yardage requirement distributed across the three colors.
