Product Description
Heart Poncho from Noro is a colorful and fun intarsia
women’s accessory knit in Kureyon, and it is the original self-striping yarn.
It is incredibly popular year after year, and it’s easy to see why! The poncho
is worked flat in two pieces from the bottom up and then seamed. The neck
edging stitches are picked up and worked in the round. The intarsia

Noro Heart Poncho
What is Being Made
The Noro Heart Poncho is a knitted cape-style garment designed as a versatile layering piece. This poncho features a heart motif as its central design element, making it both a functional and decorative accessory. The poncho silhouette offers easy, comfortable wear suitable for various occasions and body types, as it drapes over the shoulders without requiring fitted construction.
Design Source and Credits
This pattern appears in Mini Knits 4, a Noro Design publication. The poncho was designed by Jenny Watson, with photography by Glen Pearson. The pattern is published by Knitting Fever, Inc. (KFI) and is intended for personal use only.
Knitting Techniques
The Noro Heart Poncho employs knitting techniques typical of patterned garment construction. The heart motif requires attention to stitch placement and color work to create the distinctive design element. Knitters will work from written instructions and gauge specifications to ensure proper fit and drape of the finished poncho.
Stitches and Construction
While specific stitch names are not detailed in the pattern documentation provided, the poncho construction involves standard knitting stitches combined to create the heart pattern. The pattern includes measurements and gauge guidelines to help knitters achieve the intended finished dimensions and fabric characteristics.
