Made a striped slouchy hat with 2 different skeins and it is very pretty when you do this. This is what they do in a lot of the sweater patterns from Noro too.

The Upside: This yarn has some really beautiful colors and is super warm knitted up. The Noro Stripped Scarf I made (Raverly pattern) turned out lovely.

The Downside: Both skeins I used were full of sharp small organic material that needed to be picked out every few yards (I'm not exaggerating). Plus it's very coarse. Most people would probably find it unpleasant against bare skin.

I decided I while I wouldn't recommend this yarn to a friend, I would use it again myself.

      Comments about 11.95 Silk Garden:

the colors are great, but it was impossible to make the colors in front match the colors in back because each skein knit up in different colored stripes. the mohair sheds and makes the garment itchy to wear. I would never use this yarn again. I haven't heard from my niece as to how she likes it.

        Comments about 11.95 Silk Garden:

I have used this product before, both in the worsted weight and DK Silk Garden Lite. I love the color changes, they keep me interested even in a simple pattern that I might get bored with. My first Noro project was a scarf, and I usually get so bored with them, but the colors kept me so fascinated that the scarf was way longer than it needed to be, but it was the first thing I ever made that strangers would even comment on how beautiful it was.

            Comments about 11.95 Silk Garden:

Knitting. Love the colors! Enjoy the texture. Enjoy the "aesthetic" nature of the yarn and knitted garment. It's "thick and thin" - I don't mind this, but others may. Simple lace patterns, feather and fan, garter stitch, stockinette - all work well with this yarn. Cables, not so much. Seems best to keep the stitch pattern on the simple side because more complex stitch patterns can easily get lost in the colors and textures of the yarn (unless you use Silk Garden Solo).

              Comments about 11.95 Silk Garden:

I live knitting with Silk Garden. It is soft and warm but not itchy or heavy. It has a little bit of fuzziness but doesn't shed all over like angora. It has body but items I have made with Silk Garden have a soft, fluid hand. The only problem is deciding which color - they are all so beautiful!

                Comments about 11.95 Silk Garden:

Because of the silk content in this yarn, the colors are really bright. The mohair and wool content help the stitches to blend well. I bought color #87 to make a summer shawl to go with several linen summer dresses. As this Noro Silk Garden yarn is so soft, it is just right for summer dresses - and Spring and Autumn outfits, as well. A shawl that can be worn for most of the year is the best type of accessory to knit, and the Moro shawls I have knit so far are so comfortable and beautiful. I love this yarn!
