Breaks apart too easily

Got a great bargain on this purchase and have started knitting a scarf. The colors are a lovely earthy mixture, but the yarn is not quite as soft as one would have expected from a 50% silk blend, so only a 4/5.
I love the color and the soft feel of this yarn.
