Both wristers are worked identically using the same pattern and techniques, making them a matched set for coordinated wrist coverage.

Construction Method and Techniques

These wristers are constructed using a bottom-up, seamed, worked-flat approach that combines two distinct working methods. The cuff is initially worked back and forth on straight needles, creating a flat fabric. Once the cuff reaches the desired length at the wrist, the work is joined and transitioned to circular knitting using double-pointed needles to complete the hand portion in the round. This hybrid construction method allows for precise shaping at the cuff while maintaining seamless fabric in the hand area.

The pattern begins with casting on 58 stitches and includes strategic decreases worked into the design. A decrease row reduces stitches to 57, followed by another decrease that brings the stitch count to 56 stitches before the transition to circular knitting. This graduated shaping ensures a comfortable, fitted garment that transitions smoothly from cuff to hand.

Stitch Patterns and Techniques

The Noro Wristers showcase multiple stitch patterns that create visual interest and texture:

• Diamond Pattern: Featured in the set-up row, this pattern uses a 10-stitch repeat incorporating knit stitches, yarn overs, and SK2P (slip, knit 2 together, pass slipped stitch over) decreases to create an openwork diamond motif.
• Wave Pattern: A 14-stitch repeat that forms the primary design element of the wristers. The wave pattern alternates between purl rows and knit rows in the setup, then progresses through 16 rows of more complex stitch work.
