Norwegian Dream Hat

A summer trip to Norway inspired this design. My husband want- ed a very expensive machine-knit hat with traditional Norwegian designs. That much for a hat? No way! So I bought three balls of yarn on sale and knit this one instead.

The design is unisex and timeless. Use any fingering-weight yarn you love. Three 50 g balls of yarn should yield sufficient yarn to make two hats: simply switch the main color and accent color in the second hat.

Knit in the round on circulars and double-points, or use the Magic Loop method. You'll be using a chart for the colorwork, but there are only two colors per round. Practice holding one color in each hand for extra-speedy knitting.
