This is an extremely nice cotton yarn. It is not rough like the dishcloth type, and it's not too processed like mercerized. It is a very nice quality, and knits up nice. A little lighter/thinner in weight than the dishcloth type too. It splits a little but still very nice. The "Racing Green" is a very nice dark green color.
Excessive knots - more than industry standards.
I find Paintbox cotton yarn nice in my hands to work with while crocheting. I’m learning to crochet and have been trying different cotton yarns making dishcloths. This yarn is yummy for a cotton yarn. I would love to make a summer top in this yarn. Happy making :)
Beautiful colors in person. This yarn has a subtle shine and soft, supple texture (for cotton, that is) that seems great for a granny square blanket, for example. Splitting and untwisting at times but not really worse than other similar yarns I’ve worked with. This is a little lighter than I’ve come to expect for aran weight, in my opinion—for comparison, it is slightly thinner/finer than the Yarn and Colors Epic line and recommends a 4.5mm crochet hook instead of the 5.0mm I would usually use with Aran weight. i have not tried washing it or blocking yet.
