A beautiful soft fluffy angora

I primarily use this angora in Christmas stockings which I make to order - Santa's beard and eyebrows really stand out with this yarn.

I was knitting Santa's beard on a Christmas stocking and it was too thin. I couldn't double it as I was knitting from both ends. Later, when I could double it, it looked a lot better. What I had previously was A.C.A Supreme 100% pure Angora and Fox Brand Superchoice French Angora both made in France-much nicer.

I reproduced a knitted Christmas stocking that my grandmother made for my first Christmas. The new Christmas stocking is for my newest great-niece. The white angora is a knitted Christmas tree inserted into the face of the dark green stocking.

Great quality, but not really worsted weight.

        Comments about 7.99 Angora:

This is great quality yarn, but I disagree with the classification as worsted yarn. I have used this yarn many times in intarsia Christmas stockings with other worsted weight yarn, and it needs to be doubled to work well with other worsted weight yarns.

        Comments about 7.99 Angora:

I used this to make a hat for my sister. She wanted something white that wouldn't be tight. This fit the bill perfectly. I keep fantasizing about what else to make from it. It has a lovely halo. As expected with angora, it does shed some.

Good quality yarn. Crocheted a red and white beanie hat for my grandaughter that worked up beautifully. Love the soft "halo" effect that so flatters the face. Would buy this again.

                Comments about 7.99 Angora:

I wanted to make a floppy slouch cap for years, had a nice Vogue pattern but if I had used the angora they recommended total cost would have been almost $400! Now I am making my fluffy hat using this angora yarn held together with a strand of Berroco Andean Mist... and the total cost will be about $75 (OK, a bit pricy still but much more reasonable). The yarns work lovely together. The angora gives more fluffiness and structure whereas the other yarn makes the price much more reasonable. Just in the "knit your gauge swatch" stage of things, but it seems to knit easily, not twisty the way baby alpaca and silk can sometimes get... I think the angora helps control that. It is super soft and I am not seeing any shedding at all. VERY pleased with how this yarn is performing!
