Techniques Used

These sweaters employ several essential knitting techniques appropriate for intermediate crafters. The construction begins with ribbed cuffs and waistbands that provide elasticity and structure at the edges. Increases and decreases are strategically placed to shape the sleeve cap and create proper garment fit, with increases worked at regular intervals along the sleeve length to achieve the correct circumference. Neck shaping varies by design: the crew neck and roll neck feature straightforward neckband construction, while the V-neck requires progressive decreases at the center front to create the characteristic V-shaped opening. This style provides additional warmth and a more casual aesthetic while using identical shaping techniques throughout the garment.

V-Neck Sweater Specifications

Shown in Trench Coat 202, this design replaces the crew neckline with a V-shaped neckline created through strategic decreases at the center front. The V-neck requires a longer circular needle (60 cm) to accommodate the increased number of stitches held for the neckband. The front shaping includes decreases worked at the neck edge over successive rows and alternate rows to create the proper V depth and angle, while the back and sleeves remain consistent with the other variations.
