Techniques Used

This pattern employs several core knitting techniques appropriate for intermediate crafters. The hat begins with a cast-on of 50 stitches and uses ribbed knitting to create an elastic, fitted cuff section. The pattern incorporates cable knit stitches worked from a chart, which adds visual interest and texture to the main body of the hat. Shaping is achieved through strategic decreases (P2tog and K2tog) positioned throughout the pattern to gradually reduce stitch count from 48 stitches down to 12 stitches at the crown.
