Schacht End Delivery Shuttle

Schacht End Delivery Shuttles are designed to be lightweight, comfortable to throw and catch, adjustable to a variety of yarns, and easy to thread, making them the ultimate in shuttles for handweavers. Schacht End Delivery Shuttles are available in 12” and 15” sizes. The 12” size works with the Schacht 6” Pirns, and the 15” size works with the Schacht 8” Pirns.

Instead of the free spinning bobbin that is typically used in boat shuttles, End Delivery Shuttles work with stationary pirns. The weft yarn unwinds off the pirn’s tip when the shuttle moves and stops unwinding when the shuttle stops. The yarn comes off the pirn and goes through a set of tension pads to come out of the shuttle at a constant tension, which causes less draw-in and makes better selvedges.
