Available in two versions—a Tee with above-elbow-length sleeves and a Shell without sleeves—this pullover is designed to fit bust sizes from 32.5" to 48.5" with generous ease built into the design.

Construction Techniques

Ride employs a sophisticated multi-directional knitting approach that combines several techniques for optimal shaping and fit. The garment is cast on at the bottom and worked bottom-up, beginning with short-row shaping at the asymmetrical hem to create the angled edge detail. The body is worked in the round using circular needles from the cast-on edge up to the armholes, which allows for seamless construction in this section and ensures even tension throughout the lower body and waist shaping.

Once the armholes are reached, the construction transitions to working flat on circular needles as the piece is divided for front and back sections. This flat knitting continues through the shoulder shaping and upper body. Shibui Knits Twig is a linen-silk-wool blend composed of 46% linen, 42% recycled silk, and 12% wool. Each skein contains 190 yards and weighs 50 grams. For the Tee version, 5 to 8 skeins are required depending on size, while the Shell version requires 4 to 6 skeins.

Shibui Knits Cima is a luxury fiber blend of 70% superbaby alpaca and 30% fine merino, offering exceptional softness and warmth. Each skein provides 328 yards per 50 grams. The Tee version requires 4 to 5 skeins across the size range, while the Shell version uses 3 to 4 skeins.

Needles and Tools Required

The pattern calls for Size 5 (3.75 mm) 16-inch circular needles or double-pointed needles for ribbed edgings and cuff work. Size 6 (4 mm) circular needles in 24-inch or 32-inch lengths are used for the main body knitting in the round and flat sections.
