Product Details

Alternating waves of twisted stitches add a rhythmic texture to this classic pullover with set-in sleeves. The twisted stitch columns form gentle ripples that are not quite ribs, creating a fabric that skims rather than clings, and a fit that flatters, without added waist shaping.

Strathspey is worked in fingering (#1) yarn, but on slightly larger needles than usual, for a light yet warm fabric, with nice drape. Shown in Simply Sock Yarn, (80% superwash merino wool/20% nylon). Possible yarn subs (be sure to swatch!): Cascade Heritage Solids, Debbie Bliss Toast, Yarn Collective Fleurville 4-ply.

Named after a type of dance tune, Strathspey requires an investment of time and labor, but will be one of those sweaters that you wear over and over again!

Skill level: Intermediate; skills include reading chart, working in the round, decreasing & increasing, short row shaping, and 3-needle bind-off.

Gauge: 24 sts/34 rnds to 4"/10 cm in St st, using larger needles. Measure gauge on blocked swatch.
