What is Being Made

The Sublime Pullover is a classic knitted sweater designed in a range of sizes from 81/86cm to 132/137cm bust (32/54 inches). This pullover features a crew neckline and is worked in a straightforward construction method, making it suitable for knitters with intermediate experience. The finished garment offers a comfortable fit with actual bust measurements ranging from 98cm to 149cm depending on the size selected.

Construction Techniques

This design employs bottom-up construction, meaning the sweater is knitted starting from the lower edge and working upward toward the shoulders and neckline. The garment is worked flat on straight needles rather than in the round, and pieces are subsequently seamed together to create the finished pullover. This traditional approach allows for straightforward shaping and provides clear finishing opportunities at seams.

Stitches and Stitch Patterns

The primary stitch used throughout the Sublime Pullover is stocking stitch (also known as stockinette stitch), which creates a smooth, classic fabric with a knit side and purl side. Stocking stitch is achieved by alternating knit rows and purl rows when working flat. The pattern incorporates strategic decreasing at the neck edge to shape the neckline, with decreases worked at regular intervals (1 stitch decreased at the neck edge in the 1st row and every following alternate row). The Sublime Pullover is designed to be knitted in Sublime Isla DK, a double knitting weight yarn. Tension and Gauge

Achieving the correct tension is essential for proper fit. Knitters are instructed to work a tension swatch using 4mm needles, casting on 22 stitches and working 28 rows in stocking stitch.
