What is Being Made

Construction Techniques

This pullover is worked using several key techniques that define its construction:

• Top-Down Seamless Construction: The sweater is knit from the top down in a seamless method, eliminating the need for seaming pieces together after knitting.

Materials and Gauge

The pattern calls for premium organic merino wool and merino-alpaca blend yarns in three colors:

• Color A (Indigo): 1 skein of Swans Island Natural Colors Collection, 100% organic merino wool, fingeringweight, 100 grams and 525 yards per skein (YF107).
• Color B (Seasmoke): 2 to 3 skeins (depending on size) of Swans Island Natural Colors Collection Pure Blends, 85% organic merino wool and 15% alpaca, fingeringweight, 100 grams and 525 yards per skein (YF121).
• Color C (Indigo/Natural Ikat): 1 to 2 skeins (depending on size) of Swans Island Natural Colors Collection-Ikat, 100% organic merino wool, fingeringweight, 100 grams and 525 yards per skein (YFI101).

Gauge: 6½ stitches and 10½ rows or rounds equals 1 inch in stockinette stitch using the larger needles.

Needles Required: US size 4 (3.5mm) 16-inch and 29-inch circular needles plus double-pointed needles for the gauge specified in the pattern, and US size 3 (3.25mm) 32-inch circular needles and double-pointed needles for ribbing or other sections. Additional notions include stitch markers, stitch holders or waste yarn, a yarn needle for finishing, and one ½-inch button.
