Weaving Technique and Structure

Loom Equipment and Setup

Weaving the Firefinch Towels requires an 8-shaft loom with a minimum weaving width of 24 inches. The pattern specifies a warp of 491 ends threaded according to the provided draft, set at a sett of 22 ½ epi (ends per inch), using a 15-dent reed with 1–2 ends per dent. The finished width in the reed is 21.8 inches. The warp length is 3 yards for two towels, with an additional 36 inches required for each extra towel produced.
