I make name hangers, slogans using block-switching.Mexican striped blanket sold immediately. Weights vary according to color. Pearl weighs 950ypp, Currant 600ypp so can't use those together. Recently added Chocolate and is a completely different texture. Softer and doesn't set well with the others. I have 120 cones of 13 colors and use them often.

I ordered two colors, by weight the amount I needed for a rug in taquete. One color was about a third finer than the other. Result: The thinner color did not block out the thicker as well, and I ran out of the thick color and am left with a lot of the thin, and a considerably shorter rug than planned.

Comments about Yarn > Weaving Yarn Collingwood Rug Wool:

If you are going to weave a strong wool rug this is a great yarn to use.
You will triple it through the shed for weft faced rugs.
            Not recommended for warp.

Very good rug yarn. I weave boundweave, weft-faced rugs and I get good warp coverage, good colors to choose from but some brighter colors would be nice sometimes.

Comments about Yarn > Weaving Yarn Collingwood Rug Wool:

My only negative comment would be that the package was sent by UPS to the post office instead of to my street address and I had to carry to carry it for a mile. ( I don't drive). That will certainly stop me from ordering much quantity at one time. I think this shipping method should be made clear when you order.

Comments about Yarn > Weaving Yarn Collingwood Rug Wool:

I am an avid rider and recently started weaving saddle pads for myself and my friends. This wool is WONDERFUL for weft-faced patterns. The colors are vibrant and the wool is very soft. This may not make a difference to the horse but the riders certainly appreciate the feel. I machine wash (delicate) and machine dry (low) each pad before I use it. This shrinks it to size and makes the pad thicker and even softer. Being able to wash the pad is also a big selling point to a rider.

This was picked for wear on dining room chairs to replace worn material. The chairs are teak frame danish items from the 60's & 70's so a wooly fabric is appropriate

Comments about Yarn > Weaving Yarn Collingwood Rug Wool:

Knitting a colourwork rug in double knitting, and so far am very satisfied with the yarn. I wanted a worsted twisted yarn (for strength), wool fibre and nylon (for durability), worsted weight (for loft) and multi-ply (again, for strength). This hard wearing yarn also came in a nice selection of colours. I figured that if weavers were using it to make rugs, then knitting a rug should work just as well. It's not soft though, but stopping for lotion breaks isn't the worst thing either. I want this rug to last for many years, so we'll see!
