I really like this yarn for socks. I have used it in mosaic knitting as well a plain old stripes. I would consider it a light fingering with a medium twist. Some knitters find fault with this, calling it "splitty," but I've not been over-bothered by this quality. It makes the fabric soft and supple. I have always believed a knitter and the yarn are partners in the process rather than the knitter commanding the yarn to submit to personal whim. A softer twist may take patience for some to learn but the relationship is well worth the effort!

I think this yarn is a great value, comes in smaller hanks so I don't have to have a lot left over if I am using more than one colorway in a project, washes and dries very well, softens up after washing, provides sturdy wear, and recovers nicely from frogging and re-knitting.

I tend to knit socks with yarn of this weight at a tighter gauge -- 9 or 10 st/in -- with 2 mm short circular needles. I recommend this yarn and keep it as a basic staple in my stash.

I would really love to see an even wider color palette, even some variegated or tonal yarns in this base.

Very disappointed so far. I couldn't do the basic cable pattern I'd purchased the yarn with intentions of knitting. Then, even though I hold my yarn very loosely, a ply of the yarn broke twice before I'd turned the first heel.

I'd already wound the yarn so can't return it but won't buy more until the reviews indicate these issues have been fixed. Too bad as I've liked the other Valley yarns I've used so far.

This is my go-to yarn for double-knit; my reversible beanie two-colored beanie hats end up with just the right weight. I've also used it for socks and it holds up well, though I recommend washing cold and delicate cycle.

Back into knitting socks, been almost 40 years since my first and only attempt. Knitted lots of items, just not socks. I will do more though, the awkward stage is behind me. These two pair are a gift for my daughter

This is the main color for a hat from fall Knitty. It's a lucious fiber! very fine, could be used for shawls as well as other fine items. It's a pleasure to knit.

This yarn is terrific for stranded colorwork in gloves, mittens, socks, and the like. It does grow a bit when washed, so plan ahead and block your swatch. Lovely yarn!

This yarn is extremely very soft but I won't purchase it again. It's very split try and unravels very easily. Due to the ease of splitting it's very difficult to correct mistakes. The yarn also pills coming out of the skein. Not sure this yarn will hold up in the throw I'm knitting. Not sure I'll even use left over yarn.
