Valley Yarns Huntington is a beautiful solid color sock yarn. It is great for colorwork and patterns with more complex stitch work. Valley Yarns Huntington is extremely soft, machine washable and would also make fantastic baby projects. You will probably need two skeins for most sock patterns.  Made in Peru.

I really like this yarn for socks. I have used it in mosaic knitting as well a plain old stripes. I would consider it a light fingering with a medium twist. Some knitters find fault with this, calling it "splitty," but I've not been over-bothered by this quality. It makes the fabric soft and supple. I have always believed a knitter and the yarn are partners in the process rather than the knitter commanding the yarn to submit to personal whim. A softer twist may take patience for some to learn but the relationship is well worth the effort!

I think this yarn is a great value, comes in smaller hanks so I don't have to have a lot left over if I am using more than one colorway in a project, washes and dries very well, softens up after washing, provides sturdy wear, and recovers nicely from frogging and re-knitting.

I tend to knit socks with yarn of this weight at a tighter gauge -- 9 or 10 st/in -- with 2 mm short circular needles. I recommend this yarn and keep it as a basic staple in my stash.

I would really love to see an even wider color palette, even some variegated or tonal yarns in this base.

Very disappointed so far. I couldn't do the basic cable pattern I'd purchased the yarn with intentions of knitting. Then, even though I hold my yarn very loosely, a ply of the yarn broke twice before I'd turned the first heel.

I'd already wound the yarn so can't return it but won't buy more until the reviews indicate these issues have been fixed. Too bad as I've liked the other Valley yarns I've used so far.

I made a pair of socks with a textured pattern. They are very soft and wonderful. I was using my fastest needles and if I dropped a stitch it ran quickly down many rows and made it difficult to correct.

I bought this yarn to make a scarf, so I wanted something very soft, but warm and this seems to fit the bill. The colors are very rich and beautiful. I bought the Dark Grey Heather which I normally wouldn't buy. But it is such a nice color I couldn't resist it. Plus the great feel who could pass it up! It's perfect for my project.

              Comments about Valley Yarns Huntington:

I bought this yarn to use doubled with a Lorna's laces sock yarn to make a hat. It was black, and very hard to see. It was wound with a winder. It wound perfectly. But once I was knitting with it it tangled up with itself so badly I had to cut it all apart and toss what I had used. I ended up rewinding what I could by hand, so there was only one end available and it still tangled into impossible knots very quickly. I don't even know how that was possible. I am not terribly experienced, but I have done a lot of knitting over the last couple years, and I have never had this happen before. This yarn had to be thrown away. It was soft.
