Valley Yarns Westfield Yarn - Merino Wool DK

I was looking for a yarn for Olive Knits knit along that didn't cost an arm and a leg. I was drawn to the sage color of this yarn, which is a match for the suggested yarn weight. The color was totally accurate on the screen to what I received. I have liked the combo of wool, silk, and alpaca in the past, so I was pretty sure wool, silk, and yak would be the same lovely soft yarn. And it is! Lovely yarn that is easy to knit. It had minimal defects/knots. My cabled sweater is next to the skin soft with a nice drape. I have yet to be disappointed in a Valley Yarns yarn. This was my first time using Westfield and I would not hesitate to use it again.

I love Westfield yarn! I love everything about it - from the next-to-the-skin, soft-as-a-cloud fiber combo of Merino, Silk and Yak, to its spongy warmth and color selection. This is my favorite yarn ever. It is so soft, and it works up so beautifully. I've ordered it in half a dozen colors. I've made fingerless gloves and a sweater so far, and if I could just wear this yarn forever I would be happy.

This yarn is a pleasure to work with. It feels great in your hands and the stitches show beautifly. I've bought it several times and have been pleased with the results every time.

The yarn is incredibly soft, but still has good definition. Blocks like a dream.

I love Valley Yarns, and so chose Westfield for a shawl project. I know from past experience that I won’t be disappointed with the yarn, because Valley Yarns are always beautiful to work with. And they are reasonably priced!

I love this yarn. I love the texture, I love the way it works up, I love the colors. I love the softness. I've made mittens and I'm working on a cardigan. One thing that took a little bit to get used to is that an extremely fine fiber (I assume silk?) often separates while I'm working with it. I literally thought I had a stray hair that got caught into my project. After the 5th or 6th time I realized that it wasn't my hair, it was part of the yarn, and it didn't seem to be actually coming...

This is a soft smooth yarn; however out of 14 skeins there was either a knot or a big fluff of wool that required cutting out in about 12 of them. In some I was able to tease the fluff out . I prefer a longer length skein. The color I chose...lichen....was much darker, but that may be my computer!

Very soft, lovely yarn. My only complaint is that were little bits of vegetation in almost every skein I purchased. It was easy enough to pick out, but just surprising that it was in so many of them
