Use the stretch characteristic of ribbing to advantage, then add some cables and twist stitches for interest. This slouch hat can be made shorter to become a regular beanie. Worked in the round with size 8 (5 mm) needles, this hat works up pretty quickly, so it’s the perfect project for gift giving, or working up a hat when you want something new for yourself.

With an unstretched circumference of 14” (35.5 cm), it will easily fit heads from 21” (53.5 cm) to 23” (58.5 cm), and is 11 1/2" (29 cm) long.
