The Cas Cay is designed to be knit with Berroco Estiva yarn. The pattern calls for 2 to 4 cakes of the main color (MC) in shade #2634 Tradewind and 1 cake of the contrast color (CC) in shade #2620 Fuchsia, depending on the finished size. Each cake of Berroco Estiva weighs 150 grams.

Two needle sizes are required: size 9 (5.50 mm) needles and size 11 (8.00 mm) needles, or sizes necessary to obtain the correct gauge. The pattern gauge is 22 stitches and 32 rows over 4 inches when working Pattern Stitch B on the larger needles. Checking gauge before beginning is essential to ensure accurate finished measurements.
