In general, sock yarn makes adorable baby sweaters, so I bought this yarn to make a top-down knitted baby sweater. It is soft, washable, and worked up nicely. My only concern is that the color varied within the same dye lot, and the photos of the yarn on the website differed greatly from the actual product in terms of color intensity and brightness. I ordered Cosmopolitan and Beach House. The Cosmopolitan was dull in color, very different from the photo, and the color varied between skeins even though the dye lot was the same. I decided not to use it for this project. The Beach House lacked the brilliant color in the photograph, but knitted up well, although quite different from the website photo. I'm not sure I would order this again.

Comments about 8.00 Comfort Sock:

Made socks from this and the recipient loves them! I just bought more, the colors are wonderful. But I was frustrated when I ran into 2 knots within the first 8 grams. I found the first knot before I started, then knitted for about 2 inches when I ran into another. I cut the yarn and started over. With such a long pattern repeat, the wasted yarn is aggravating!!! I really do like the feel of it, and my only other issue is that it tends to be pretty static-y. But I sure wish yarn companies would get some quality control, especially with self-striping yarn. I have too much knitting to do to have to redo things!!!

          Comments about 8.00 Comfort Sock:

This yarn is so soft, so easy to use, and the texture comes up so smoothly in linked half double, you don't run the risk of blisters in tighter shoes. I recommend using a C hook to crochet socks with this yarn. Also, I really appreciate that there is enough yarn in the skein to crochet two socks, considering crochet generally uses more yarn than knit.

I live that it is inexpensive. It is a nice soft yarn and is great for baby items. I would like a little more elasticity when making socks.

This is a great option for people who can't wear wool. I've knitted at least 10 pairs of socks with this yarn. The mixed colors are very attractive and there's good color options for men and women. I would recommend using a size 2 needle.
