This yarn is so beautiful and soft to the touch. Prior to the first project that I made with the Berroco Vintage, (a blanket for my Mom for Christmas using Tide Pool and Breezeway) I had been using yarn from a craft store, but I don't think I'll ever go back. It knits up quickly, and the stitch definition is beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised at how soft it was when it knitted up, and while I used it to make a blanket, as previously noted, I will also be using the remaining yarn to make a pair of mittens for myself. It was also discountable, so this beautiful yarn was comparable in cost to the yarn I was buying in craft stores.

The one thing I would say negatively about the yarn was that in some cases there was less yardage in the Tide Pool color than the Breezeway, but not enough of a difference that it affected the project that I was making.

This yarn and I did not get along. Usually I don't mind yarn other people call too splitty, but while I was making increases, or even knitting straight, Vintage split and I had to carefully watch every stitch. I went through every type of needle I had to try to make this yarn happy.

I'm creating the Norah Gaughan Vintage Afghan using 5 different colors with 20 squares, each with a different pattern. The yarn works up beautifully and I'm hoping the afghan will become an heirloom for my daughter.

Great yarn to use for items which you would expect to wash. Also a cost effective choice for gifts or projects which are especially challenging, since you don't have a huge investment if you decide to put the project on the shelf for a while.
