    This yarn is itchy and stiff. I used what the pattern recommended, and I'll never do that again. Bought two skeins, knitted it up, threw into the trash.

    Plymouth Encore Chunky is the only yarn that works well for making a Peruvian hat.

    It works us nicely and is soft on your hands while knitting. It used to ship right from MA -- now it ships from Missouri which takes longer.
