Berroco Vintage Chunky Yarn - Acrylic Chunky

I am really a natural fiber snob. However, when I make garments for other people who don't want to hand wash a sweater, I like to use Berroco Vintage. It has enough wool in it to work up well and feel good, but it is easy care, it's not too itchy, and it performs better for the purpose. It has a great color range. I have used the worsted weight for colorful baby blankets, and I am now using the Chunky to make one of those retro Mary Maxim sweaters that were originally designed for 100% acrylic...

I have used Berrocco vintage for baby and toddler sweaters for years- a great product and can go in the washing machine but still has wool. This year I tried Berrocco Vintage Chunky for an “Icelandic” style sweater for a 4 year old, knowing the sweater would end up in the washing machine! The chunky version knits up beautifully as Aran weight, the colors are great, it’s soft, and I did wash the finished sweater and air dried it-no shrinkage, just great. I will use this yarn again!

Made a stuck blanket for a sick relative. It is nice, warm, and soft.

Berroco Vintage Chunky is a wonderful yarn. I have used it to make 2 blankets and it is very soft and easy to handle.

Vintage is one of my favorite yarns, along with Valley Northampton. The chunky is good. I have not used it yet.

This may have become my new favorite yarn to work with! Made a throw and it worked up so beautifully. Will definitely be using this yarn again.

I love the depth of color and the squishy feel of this yarn but I was disappointed to find joins in most skeins.

Berroco Vintage and Berroco Vintage Chunky are my “go to” yarns for baby blankets, afghans, etc. Lovely colors, soft but durable yarn, easy to knit, washes beautifully!
