Did not give it 5 stars as I haven't seen it washed and dried.

I liked this yarn, but I didn't love it. I used it to make my husband a scarf and hat, and it grew a bit more than I anticipated (even after washing the gauge swatch). It does, for the most part, shrink back up in the dryer but it also looks used--too much halo--and tired after soaking, drying and blocking. I'm disappointed and unlikely to use it again.

Comments about 8.75 220 Superwash Aran:

I purchased this yarn for a (75 x 60) crocheted afghan. The heavy weight of Aran yarn is fantastic for my project and this yarn is extremely soft and is easy to crochet. I ordered 19 hanks and needed to order more to complete this project and since I chose the white colorway I was very happy that both shipments matched perfectly even though the two shipments were different dye lots and I was not guaranteed that the different colors would match. The only drawback that I have experienced with this yarn is the amount of yardage per hank. Each hank is approximately 150 yards and is a bit of a pain to join a new ball every 3 inches, however, I am very pleased with the yarn overall.

Comments about 8.75 220 Superwash Aran:

I made a knitted throw with this yarn as a gift. I washed it per instructions after I finished the project and It shed and pilled so badly it took forever to remove/clean up so my gift would look presentable. I am really disappointed with this yarn. I've made similar throws out of other merino yarn brands that washed up beautifully. While it is very soft and beautiful to work with I (except for problems with splitting on increases and decreases) I would recommend washing your stitch gauge before starting a project with this yarn.

I first purchased this yarn three summers ago to make a baby blanket for my daughter. I loved it, and purchased more to make blanket for my niece. And when a friend announced her pregnancy, I bought more to make a blanket for her. It's so soft, and machine washable, so it's perfect for a baby blanket.

I did my first pair of kilt socks with the same brand for a friend, who had selected the yarn himself. It is lovely to work with. It is too heavy for regular socks, but perfect for kilt socks, once called "the oatmeal of the sock world". I actually bought yarn from 2 places because I am playing with a 2-tone pattern, and neither place had both colors. Both arrived the same day and cost the same.

I am making matching sweaters for two of my grandsons( brothers).
The weight is perfect for the pattern: a Norwegian Fisherman pattern I have had for 40 years!
Perfect weight, knitting at 4 sts to the inch on # 9 needles.
Very happy with this yarn. I will use again for myself and other children's garments.
